On Indian Agriculture and the role of World Trade Organization’s – Agreement on Agriculture

This is a piece written by Manikantha Nataraj, Dr Aurolipsa Das and me on how the WTO’s Agreement on Agriculture affects agricultural output with special regards to the differential impacts of policies on developed and developing countries. While we wrote this paper for a conference presentation at the University of Hyderabad, we are looking forward to improve on our work. We do an extensive literature review of WTO’s policies and the post-liberalization Agrarian Political Economy crisis which manifests in different ways in India and suggest certain policy improvements. This is a work in progress.
